If army vehicles will receive "70-ton" suspension, we can expect some further weight growth
Australian Army reports that their M1A1SA weight is 63,100kg, I doubt that US.Army/ARNG would weight less. But maybe to compensate lack of DU, they needed to mount something heavier in place of DU layers, more thicker RHA plates in place of thinner DU plates? But it should not change weight in significant way... a hard nut to crack it seems.
And currently vehicles allready are reciving new suspension, one man on TankNet was talking with guys rom GDLS, they just recently started work on USMC vehicles, they even started talks with US Army to replace torsion bars with hydrogas suspension. But nobody knows how it will end, GDLS also want to replace AGT-1500C with GD883 Diesel.
